More Verve!!!

I just wanted to share another card I made for this month's Verve release. For this one, I used the Plain Jane Hebrews 11:1 (Verve). This verse really speaks to me!!

No different techniques, or anything fancy-shmancy here.

Stamps: Hebrews 11:1 (Verve)
Paper: Kraft and Tawny Light (Prismatics), Neenah Natural White, Little Yellow Bicycle and Making Memories dp
Ink: Vintage Photo (Ranger Distress Ink), Espresso (Adirondack Dye Ink)
Accessories: Labels II Nestabilities (Spellbinders), SU! diecuts - Flowers Tags and bird, Leave punch (Martha Stewart), Corduroy Brad (SU!), Brads (Heidi Swapp), Brown String (May Arts), Sewing Machine
Here's another card I shared at the Verve release party last Friday:

I rock 'n rolled the leaves and circle from the Just For You set on this one, using Lettuce and Bottle (Adirondack Dye Ink). The edges are ink distressed with Antique Linen (Ranger Distress Ink), and the sentiment was stamped with Espresso (Adirondack Dye Ink).

Stop by the Verve Store and gallery and check out these new sets. They are truly fabulous!!!

Stamps: Just For You
Paper: Neenah Natural White, Island Mist Dark (Prismatics), Miscellaneous dp
Ink: Lettuce, Bottle and Espresso (Adirondack Dye Ink), Antique Linen (Ranger Distress Ink)
Accessories: Labels III Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Spring Moss Grosgrain Ribbon (PTI), Dew Drops, Sewing Machine, Dimensional Tape

Hope you're all having a fabulous week!!
We're taking the boat out tomorrow for the first time this summer!! Can't wait to swim, kneeboard and tube!! It's been in the 100's here *groan*!!!
So, no stamping for me tomorrow.

Happy Stamping everyone!!

Featuring Dawn!!

My good friend Dawn was the Featured Stamper on SCS yesterday!! Congrats my friend!! Of course I had to participate...even if I am a day late. *grin* The card of Dawn's that I cased is HERE. I loved her panels and that they were the same dp as her bg. I also loved the different shapes. So that's what I went with. When you case, the rules are that you have to change at least two different things. My changes: Colors, shapes, images, and I added a button and eliminated the brads.

To start, I wanted to create my own dp with some of Verve's newest releases. I took Antique Linen and Old Paper Ranger Distress Ink and rubbed them directly onto Simply Smooth cardstock (Prism). I then took the large Leaf image from the set Forever in Our Hearts (Verve), and rock 'n rolled it with Oregano and Espresso (Adirondack Dye Ink). I also used the leaves from the set Just For You, and the Plain Jane Leaves. The sentiment is from the Forever in Our Hearts set and is stamped with Espresso onto Neenah Natural White with a silhouette of the Plain Jane Leaves in the bg.

I LOVE my Spellbinders Nestabilities. So for this card I used the Labels I and the Octagon. The button is PTI and the Grosgrain Ribbon is May Arts.

Finally, all the edges were ink distress with Vintage Photo. (I know...shocker ain't it) *giggle*

Hope your week is off to a fabulous start!!
Happy Stamping y'all!!

A Hedgehog for you...

I have a friend who LOVES hedgehogs. So when I saw this cute little guy in the new Penny Black set Teddy and Company, I couldn't wait to make a card with him. The sentiment is from the All Wrapped Up set (Flourishes). I just used a Brown Tombow marker to color the sentiment inside the tag, and the hedgehog is colored with copics.

This week for our CCEE Challenge, Charlene sent us supplies.

  • Pink Designer Paper
  • Two Chocolate Brads
  • One pink gemstone brad
  • Two ribbons: One pink & one chocolate
  • One chocolate oval punch & two white oval punches
  • One pink pirouette curly label punch

Charlene’s instructions were that we:

  • must use all or a portion of the designer paper
  • must use either the pink gemstone brad or chocolate brads or both if we liked.
  • must use a portion or all of one of the ribbons or both if we liked.
  • must use either the oval all punch & oval punch shapes together or the curly label punch or both if we liked.
To see what the other girls have come up with, stop by our CCEE Stampers Blog. We'd love to have you participate too. Just follow the instructions on the blog.

Verve's Newest Releases!!

Verve's latest releases are now available!! Click HERE to go check them all out!! I have a couple of projects to share with you. The first is a magnet I made with the largest Blossom diecut (Spellbinders) and the Plain Jane 1 Peter 5:7 image. I used my Blossom diecut to cut out thin chipboard shapes and Bella Bella (My Mind's Eye) dp. Each shape is layered with dimensional tape to give the flower depth. The diecut won't go completely through the magnet, but the lines are deep enough to follow easily with a scissors.

Here's the magnet before I attached it to the back of the flower chipboard.

This next card is a completely different style. I went with a more modern look with the black, white and light blue.

I stamped the image, from the Forever in Our Hearts set, with Tuxedo Black (Memento). The dp I used is by Dovecraft (Kate Knight). I added some rhinestone flowers to bling it up a bit, as well as the Anna Griffin decorative brads and heated organdy ribbon. There are also three tiny little Pewter Pearls (Kaisercraft) in the flower centers on the bottom right.

That's it for today. I have some more cards to show you with these new releases that I'll post Sunday. Be sure to stop by the Verve store!!

Stamps: 1 Peter 5:7, Forever in Our Hearts
Paper: Bella Bella (My Mind's Eye), Neenah Natural White, Kate Knight dp (Dovecraft), Black (Prismatics), Core' dinations
Ink: Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain (Ranger Distress), Tuxedo Black (Memento)
Accessories: Blossom and Octagon Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Magnet sheet, Rhinestone Flowers, Pewter Pearls (Kaisercraft), Decorative Brads (Anna Griffin), Organdy Ribbon, Dimensional Tape

Happy Birthday Michelle!!

It's Michelle's Birthday today...and the Dream Team wants to wish her the grandest of birthdays!! Check out all the girls blogs to see what Birthday card they came up with to honor her today!! If you have a moment, head on over to the Stamper's Dream Blog and wish Michelle a happy birthday!!

Michelle LOVES Northwoods stamps, and she's big on watercoloring. So I thought I would watercolor this beautiful Closed Wing Swallowtail Butterfly/Sunflower image. This time I used my Watercolor Crayons (SU!). I adore the Octagon Nestabilities Shape, so I framed the image with it. I then sewed Ledger dp (Making Memories), to Kraft cs (Prism), and used Neenah Natural White as my card Base.

I love flourishes, and I thought these Wood Flourishes by Kaisercraft added just the right country feel. Finally, I did what I almost always do....I ink distressed. I just can't help myself sometimes. This time I used Vintage Photo (Ranger Distress Ink)

That's it. To see what the rest of the team has come up with, click on the following names: Becca, Cammie, Charmaine, Denise, Kim, Laurie

Tombows with a Flourish!

I have new toys!! Woot!! New to me anyway, they've been around for like forever!! Michelle just started carrying Tombow Markers in her Stamper's Dream store and ever since I was given a demo on how to use them I've been wanting to try them. Michelle has always watercolored with them so beautifully and I've been chomping at the bit to try my hand at it. And now...I'm in love. They're so easy to use and require very little time. A couple of lines and dots of color and woila!! Of course it helps to have a gorgeous image, like these Sweet Violets by Flourishes. They're stamped with Versamark, embossed with Detail Black ep and cut out with Oval Nestabilities (Spellbinders). The paper is Cosmo Cricket, and I added a few embellishments: Pearl Stickpin, Metal Corner (Tim Holtz), Dew Drops, Silky Crushed Wired Ribbon (May Arts)

Thanks so much for stopping by!!
I hope you're having a fantastic week.
Happy Stamping!!

Verve Sneak Peek - Kindred Spirits

I'm so excited to be able to share with you my very first Verve Sneak Peek. Julee has done it again. She has three gorgeous sets for you this month and some awesome Plain Janes!! My project for today is showcasing the set Kindred Spirits. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it. So much so that I completed the inside of the card, and made an envelope to match.

For the card, I started by Inking up the largest Fleur de lis combo image with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink, stamping it off once, and then stamping it onto Simply Smooth Cardstock. I stamped the smaller one directly on top of the first with Frayed Burlap again. All the edges are ink distressed with the Frayed Burlap distress ink also. I then cut out the shape with the Oval Nestabilities (Spellbinders), and pierced a background piece with an Ornare Template. The edges were punched with a Fiskars border punch. The swirls were cut with a SU! diecut as was the flower base. The center of the flower was made with a Carl CarlaCraft punch and a Pewter Pearl (Kaisercraft)

For the inside, I used the Fleur de lis strip, stamping it twice, and the Kindred Spirits sentiment was stamped with Espresso (Adirondack Dye Ink). I stamped the larger Fleur de lis in the background with Frayed Burlap, but it's hard to see.

Finally, I stamped the envelope with the frame and the two individual Fleur de lis images and added a couple of Rhinestone Stickers (Kaisercraft and Zva Creative)

That about sums it all up. Head on over to the Verve Blog and check out what the other Divas have come up with for this set. They are fantastic.

Thank you so much for stopping by.
Have a fabulous rest of the week!!!

Supplies:
Stamps: Kindred Spirits

Fond Memories...

When I saw these Candy Jars by Impression Obsession, I was immediately taken back to my childhood. I've lived in different states, towns and cities, but they always had dime stores; and my brother and I loved it when we were given a chance to go pick out some penny candy. The reason it was such a treat is because it was such a rare opportunity. One I still remember and treasure today; drooling over the varieties and trying to make a choice with the few coins I had. My mom and brother (as well as my children now) were *hard candy* lovers. I always went for the chewy stuff myself. So the Candy Sticks in this image really stood out to me. You see, when I go to the local candy store to get candy apples, I always bring back some hard candy sticks because my kids love them. Again, this is a rare treat for them, just like it was for me, because we don't do it that often. Maybe they'll have some fond memories like I do. (These two boxes will be going on their desks tonight as a sweet surprise. )

Anyway...on to the card.
I loved coloring these varieties. And to give the rock candy a bit more realism, I added some Ultrafine Transparent Glitter with my Quickie Glue Pen to give them some sparkle. The jar lids were colored with a silver pen, and the sentiment on top is from the JustRite set Celebrations Demi Phrases.

Michelle carries Martha Stewart Punches now, and I'm a punch-a-holic. So, of course, I had to use a couple on here: the New Scallop Edge, and the Flourish border. I ink distressed the papers with Antique Linen and Frayed Burlap (Ranger Distress Ink), and ran my Ink Distress Tool (SU) over the papers lightly to give it all a more vintage feel. To finish it all off, I added some Chocolate Grosgrain Ribbon and some Chocolate PTI buttons, (as well as a miscellaneous button from my stash), and some Natural Burlap String (May Arts).

The little boxes were made with a template that my dear friend Laurie designed awhile back to hold pencils. You can find the template HERE. I thought they'd be perfect to hold these little treats...and the were!! All the measurements were done for me...woot!! I just shortened mine to 5" so the candy would show a bit more, and added Chocolate Grosgrain Ribbon and some PTI Wooden Buttons.

The yummy Lil' Man Cosmo Cricket paper can all be found at Stamper's Dream too, as well as the images, ribbon, and just about everything you might need to make a card. Michelle even ships out of the country, and almost always by the next day! Talk about service.

That sums up today's project!!
Happy Weekend ya'll!!
And Happy Stamping too!!

Charming Gardner

I started this card with this weeks SCS Sketch yesterday, but I ended up with a migraine and didn't get it finished. I tell ya, those things pop up at the most inopportune times. I mean, interrupting stamping. Really now!!

Anyway, I turned the sketch a quarter turn to the left so I could use this sweet boot image from the Impression Obsession set Charming Gardner. Now, the boots originally have tuplips and daffodils in them, so I stamped the bottom half of the boot onto Simply Smooth Ivory (Prism), masked it and then stamped the rose and daisies that are also in the set. Then, I just colored it with my copics and added a touch of sparkle with my Quickie Glue Pen and Ultrafine Transparent Glitter (AIG). The yummy paper is Pretty Please from My Mind's Eye, and the Beautiful Sheer Rose Ribbon is May Arts. The button is PTI and is threaded with Pink Burlap String (May Arts). I then sewed the edges and actually scored, but it's hard to see.

Michelle (Stamper's Dream) has a wonderful variety of Impression Obsession images in her store right now. They stamp beautifully with their deep etching, and they're fabulous to color. You really should go check them out. She's also selling Tombow Markers now too. Ever since I've seen Jerri Kay watercolor with them, I've wanted to try my hand at coloring with them. So, I have some on the way. Kim Teasdale (man that girl can color) even gave me a mini-tutorial, at CHA, on how to use them after taking one of Jerri's classes. Oooooo...can't wait to try them out.

Thanks for stopping by.
Hope you're having a fabulous week!
Happy Stamping!!

It's Candy Time!

Isn't this Rachelle Ann Miller Image *Candy Time* sweet? I thought it would be fun to pair it with the Cosmo Cricket Lil' Man paper, even though the image is a little girl. *grin* I loved these bouncing balls and the red/orange plaid.

This is a pretty basic card so I'll just post a list of the products below with the links. The image and papers can be found at Stamper's Dream.

Friends Always - Mojo91

I thought it would be fun to do the Mojo sketch this morning. I hope I didn't break the rules too much by shifting the tag to the left instead of the right. I rock 'n rolled the flowers from the Because of You set with Rose Romance (SU!) and Espresso (Adirondack Dye Ink), and stamped it off once. I then stamped the sentiment from the same set with Tuxedo Black (Memento) directly over it.

The backgrounds were created with images from the Artful Elegance set, as was the sentiment tag. They were stamped with Latte (Adirondack Dye Ink). I used Versamark on the Chocolate piece but it's very hard to see.

I also used a Spica pen to give a hint of sparkle to the flowers. If you click on the photo, you'll be able to see it better. Although it's always more sparkly irl. *grin*

Hope your week is off to a wonderful start!
Happy stamping!!

CCEE Tri-Shutter Card

It's time for another CCEE Challenge. This week Charlene challenged us to make a Tri-Shutter card found HERE on SCS.

There is NO stamping on the card. I know...the horror!! *grin*
I just dry embossed Core'dinations paper with the Sizzix Wedding Set #2 Embossing folder and sanded it with a Sanding Block (SU!). The Vintage Metal piece is from Making Memories, and the rhinestone flourishes are Prima.

I made the flowers with a Spellbinders flower die, and Martha Stewart and Carl Carlacraft punches. The swirls are a SU! die, and the stamens are from Impress.

The edges are all ink distressed with Tea Dye and Aged Mahogany Ranger Distress Ink.

That about sums up this no stamping card. We'd love to have you play along too. All you have to do is go to our CCEE Stampers blog and link your creation in the comments section. It's always fun seeing where stampers' creativity takes them.

Thank you so much for stopping by.
I hope you have a fabulous and blessed week!!
Happy Stamping!

Obsessed!!

The Stamper's Dream Dream Team has been obsessed this week!! Yep, it's Impression Obsession Week and each day this week, Dream Team members have been sharing projects made with IO's new releases. And they are fabulous!! For this final day, I get the honor of showing you their charming House!! What a fabulous image. I had such an awesome time coloring and decorating it. The house is colored with copics, and I gussied up the flowers a bit with Sweetpea Flower Soft. The brad was made with Chatterboxes Easy Brad Maker Kit and my JustRite Fonts. I used 25 pt Trompe Upper and Lowercase, and 15 pt Times Roman. One cool thing about the brads is the prongs open out away from the center. So instead of having to poke the brad through the ribbon, I was able to wrap the prongs around it instead. And oh, how I love May Art's Silk Ribbon. Talk about soft!! And it lays so beautifully!! I used the Rose Silk Ribbon, and added a hint of bling, to the door handle and corners, with Multicolored Mini Rhinestones (Zva Creative).

Stamper's Dream is now carrying some Martha Stewart punches, and I use them often on my cards. This time I used the Arch Lattice Border Punch. It adds a subtle elegance to the card I think.

Well, that about sums up the details. Check out what the rest of the team made this week.

Here's the Dream Team Impression Obsession Week schedule:

Beach Obsessed!!

It's Impression Obsession Week at Stamper's Dream. The Dream Team has come up with some fabulous projects with the New Impression Obsession Releases!

This was the first image I saw that I knew I had to have. I thought this little Seaside Shack was just adorable. And it's so much fun to color. The possibilities are endless!! I colored it with copics and added a fun new product that I first saw on my friend Dawn Lusk's blog. It's called MuddPuddles. Fun stuff!! It's actual sand. It's in a tube like stickles, and I just squeezed it onto my cardstock.

I added some eyelets (Making Memories) around the edge and threaded them with Ivory Burlap String (May Arts). The Curved Rectangle Nestabilities is framed with Suede Brown Dark (Prismatics), and the dp is Dream Street. The base is Neenah Natural White, and the image is stamped with Tuxedo Black (Memento) onto Simply Smooth cs (Prism)

Finally...the edges are ink distressed with Antique Linen and Tea Dye (Ranger Distress).

Thank you so much for stopping by!! Check out what the other girls have done with these new images:

A daring balloon ride!

This is a birthday card I made for my nephew who has committed to riding in a hot air balloon with me and his cousins this summer. I was afraid it might not be macho enough for him since he's a tough 14 year old farm boy, but he loved it (at least he said he did...polite young man that he is). Love these balloons from this months Verve release Up, Up and Away. They're so versatile like so many of the Verve images. For this tall card, everything is paper pieced with Provence (Memory Box), or Wisteria (Basicgrey). I added a bit of ink distressing to all the images with Frayed Burlap (Ranger Distress Ink) and sewed around the edges. The sentiment is from the set Dare To Be You, and the larger tree is a Plane Jane called Whimsy Tree. Oh, almost forgot, the baskets were stamped onto Simply Smooth (Prism) and were colored with copics, and the sentiment was stamped directly onto the dp with Tuxedo Black (Memento).

Don't forget to check out the project parade going on at the Verve Blog. Those girls *got talent*, and they're not afraid to use it!! Plus, you have an opportunity to win the stamp set of your choice or a $25 gift certificate just by leaving a comment.

Thanks for stopping by!

Featuring Flowergal36 for CCEE

Is it really Monday already? WOW! It seems time goes faster when the kids are out of school. Well, since it's Monday, I have a CCEE challenge card for you today. Charlene chose our CNFS (catchy name featured stamper) from SCS this month, and she chose a real sweetheart. On SCS she's known as Flowergal36...aka - Dawn. Our challenge was to make a card with flowers on it. Yee-Ha!!! One of my favorite card themes!!

I LOVE these Sweetpeas (Flourishes) that I got from Stamper's Dream. The shading details, in the image itself, make it so easy to color. I stamped it with Tuxedo Black (Memento) onto Simply Smooth cs (Prism), and framed it with Black (Prismatics). After adding a touch of Ultrafine Transparent Glitter, I layered it onto Wedding dp by Making Memories. The border punch is Fiskars, and the Pink and Black Rhinestones are from Kaisercraft. I punched the top two corners with a Marvy punch that I received from my dear friend Joanne (JoJot). The ribbon is oh-so-fine Pink Silk Ribbon (May Arts). LOVE this stuff. It's so soft and lays so beautifully!!

To see what the other girls have come up with, check out the CCEE Stamper's Blog.

It's Impression Obsession Week at Stamper's Dream this week and the Dream Team has some fantastic projects for you. Here's the scedule:

Nesting

I've mentioned many times that I'm a huge nature lover. Birds are right at the top of my list, so naturally I'm drawn to bird stamp images. This Nesting image (Inkadinkado), that I got from Stamper's Dream, is so realistic to me. I loved it the first time I saw it. And then while making this card, I found it was the easiest image to color. Many stampers having been using their copics on Kraft paper lately, so I thought I'd give it a try. I'm happy to say, I'm very pleased with the results. Kraft is very easy to color on, and I love the vintage feel it gave this card. After coloring, I coated the image with three layers of Detail Clear Embossing Powder (JudiKins), put it in the freezer for 10 minutes, cracked the glaze and rubbed Walnut Stain (Ranger Distress Ink) into the cracks. I then framed the image with this Breaking Free Summertime Frame Diecut (My Mind's Eye), and embellished it with flowers, flourishes and ribbon. Everything is ink distressed with Walnut Stain (Ranger Distress Ink).

The weekend is just around the corner. Hope your week is going well!
Happy stamping!

You're a lifesaver!

Verve has a wonderfully fun new set this month called *Sweet On You*. And it's filled with fun sentiments that go well with different candies. I chose to use *You're a Lifesaver* and made my own lifesaver candies with circle Nestabilities. I just layered the smallest circle inside one 2 sizes larger, cut, then embossed. I then coated them with Diamond glaze (JudiKins). When it was almost dry, I used my JustRite 1 3/16" circle stamper with the 15 pt. Times Roman font and stamped *Lifesaver* into the glaze. I think they look like lifesavers don't you? The bg is embossed with the Diamonds in the Rough Cuttlebug Folder, and the stitched grosgrain was stapled on. The corners were punched with the SU Tag Corner Punch, and the dots in the corner are Black Candy Dots (Pebbles, Inc.)

That about sums this card up. Thanks a bunch for stopping by!!
Have a wonderful week of Happy Stamping!!

A CCEE Challenge and an Announcement!!

I have 3 projects to share with you today because I have an announcement that I'm thrilled to be able to make!! As you can see by the watermark on this card, I'm now officially a Verve Diva!! I've LONG admired Julee's images, as well as her skills as a stamper, so when she asked if I'd like to join the team, of course I said yes. I didn't even have to think about it!! Thanks Julee for this honor.

I simply adore Julee's new set Up, Up and Away. I LOVE hot air balloons; Love watching them and love riding in them. I took my first hot air balloon ride 7 years ago, and will get to go on my second one this summer. I can not wait! There is nothing like the peace up in the sky. No sounds except for the gases being released into the balloon. And when the pilot stops releasing them for a bit, pure quiet. No birds, no cars, nothing!! Tranquility!!

Okay, now on to the card, I only stamped the balloon shape from the set Up, Up and Away. I replaced the interior design with one of the extra designs that is in the set. I then colored it with copics and added a few multicolored mini rhinestones (Zva Creations).

I got this jar at Wal-Mart for $1.50. I loved the square panels and the ridges along the sides. It made for easy decorating. I just used my new Inverted Scalloped Circle Nestabilities. For the kraft layer, I first cut out the smaller shape. I then laid a larger one over the top and put my tan mat underneath so it didn't cut through, but embossed instead. For the top layer, I used the larger shape so that I had a nice matting around the star burst look.

If you click on the photo, you can see a closer look of the sentiment tag on the top. I rock 'n rolled the sentiment You're Red Hot ( Sweet on You) with Classic Red (Stampin' UP!) and Tuxedo Black (Memento). I love the look. The button is from PTI, and the swirls are a Stampin' UP! diecut. All the edges were ink distressed with Vintage Photo (Ranger Distress Ink), and the Paper is My Mind's Eye from their Just Dreamy Collection.

Last, but certainly not least, I made this card for the weekly CCEE challenge. Since it's a new month, we have a new hostess with the mostest, and that would be Charlene!! For this first week, she provided us with a sketch.

I first stamped the Mentor, protector, etc. image, from the Protector set, with Faded Jeans (Ranger Distress) ....stamped off twice....onto Gray (Prismatics) for the bg in the oval. I then stamped *DAD* over it with Versamark and embossed it with Detailed Black ep. The edges are all ink distressed with Slate (Adirondack Dye Ink), and the texture was created with a Sizzix embossing folder. I finished it off with some sewing and a few brads, along with two punched stars made with the SU Star Punch.

If you'd like to see what the other gals have come up with , or would like to participate yourself, head on over to the CCEE Stamper's Blog by clicking HERE. We'd love to have you join us in this sketch challenge.

If you've stayed with me this long, I'm impressed! Thanks for stopping by!!!
I hope you have a fabulous week!!
Happy Stamping!!
Tosh
